religious scholar was imprisoned on charges of sedition

Once upon a time, a religious scholar was imprisoned on charges of sedition. When Friday came, he would bathe, comb his hair, get ready, and wait anxiously. As soon as the Friday call to prayer was given, he would walk briskly towards the main gate of the prison. He would listen to the entire call to prayer by holding onto the bars of the prison gate, then return to his barracks with heavy steps and a sad face, wiping away his tears.

The jailer at the gate, who was a non-Muslim, had been observing this habit of this religious scholar for a long time. Finally, one day, he could not control himself. He called the religious scholar to him and asked:

"What do you do every Friday? You come to the gate dressed, even though you know that the prison door is closed to you and you cannot go out. Why do you still walk so far?"

 The religious scholar replied:

"Jailer! My Allah Almighty has ordered that when you hear the call to prayer for Friday, leave all your work and head towards the mosque as soon as possible. That is why I carry out the command of my Lord and reach as far as I can."

He continued:

"Then I hold the bars of the prison gate and address my Lord and say:

O Allah! You see my compulsion. I have come this far because of your command, but I cannot go further. Now, seeing my intention, make me present yourself.

Because my Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity, so I hope that my Lord will definitely give me the reward of Friday, even though I perform the noon prayer in prison."

Finally, the religious scholar said:

"What seems like a spectacle to you is my religion and my faith to me."
